Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This is a first-draft policy for the platform build. It will undergo formal legal review before the platform transacts with real funds.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Damtata · Sanco joint venture (the “Operator”) collects, uses, stores and protects information in connection with the Damtata Energy Exchange platform. Given Namibia's FATF grey-listing, strong data governance is central to the Platform.

1. Information we collect

We collect organization details (legal name, registration number, address), the identities of directors and beneficial owners, licensing and tax documents, banking confirmation, and transaction records. We also collect account and usage data necessary to operate the Platform.

Verification documents are stored as references in private, access-controlled storage. We store verification status and document references rather than raw sensitive identifiers in plaintext wherever practical.

2. How we use information

We use information to verify participants (KYC/KYB), operate trading, contracting, escrow and settlement, meet anti-money-laundering and sanctions obligations, generate documents, provide support, and improve the Platform.

3. Sharing

Counterparties to a transaction see the information necessary to transact (e.g. organization identity and order details). Verified-organization identity appears in the licensed-participant registry. We share information with regulators and licensed settlement partners as required by law, and with service providers under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell personal information.

4. Security and retention

Access is restricted and logged. Row-level security scopes data so participants only access their own records; sellers cannot see competitors' listings or orders. We retain records for the periods required by financial-intelligence and tax law.

5. Your rights

Subject to legal record-keeping requirements, you may request access to or correction of your organization's information. Contact the Operator through the Platform to make a request.

6. Contact & governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia. Questions can be directed to the Operator via the Platform.
