Transparency and coordination for Namibia's fuel supply.
Damtata Energy Exchange is digital infrastructure for auditable, coordinated fuel trade, designed for exactly the transparency and procurement-coordination goals the country is now prioritising.
The moment
In April–May 2026, Namibia's National Energy Fund recorded roughly N$1.3 billion in fuel-price under-recoveries in a matter of months, a strain that put the mechanics of national fuel procurement squarely in focus.
In response, the country moved toward a Bulk Petroleum Import Coordination (BPIC) approach: centralising and coordinating bulk fuel procurement to improve buying power, reduce leakage and raise transparency across the supply chain.
Coordination and transparency are precisely software problems - price discovery, verified counterparties, auditable transactions and clean records. That is what an exchange provides.
How Damtata supports these goals
Transparency
Every order, price, contract, payment and escrow movement is recorded in an immutable audit trail. Gazetted prices are displayed openly and tracked over time.
Coordination
A single venue where verified buyers, sellers, depots and hauliers transact, with standing orders for institutional fleet fuel and a live view of volumes.
Auditability & compliance
KYC/KYB on every participant, beneficial-ownership disclosure, sanctions-aware onboarding and full record-keeping, built for a FATF grey-listed environment.
Built for this moment, not a claim of endorsement
Damtata is an independent, jointly-owned platform. We are not appointed by, partnered with, or endorsed by any government body, and we make no such claim. We have built the platform to be useful infrastructure for the transparency and coordination the country is pursuing, and we welcome engagement with public institutions, starting with a read-only oversight view they can rely on.
